Jon Huertas was born in New York City under the name Jon William Scott Hofstedt. He is an American actor and US Air Force Veteran. Jon was raised primarily by his grandparents. His father was Puerto


Rican/African-American, and his mother was Caucasian. Huertas served for eight years in the US Air Force, serving in Operation Just Cause (Panama) and Desert Storm (the first war in Iraq).

He received his degree in theater while serving in the military. Huertas regularly attends charity events benefiting veterans, including Wounded Warriors and Puppies Behind Bars.

He is also known for his role as Sergeant Antonio 'Poke' Espera in HBO's Generation Kill the miniseries, as well as Joe Negroni in the film Why Do Fools Fall in Love?

Huertas recently has been making the transition from working in front of the camera to working behind it by producing and directing music videos and films.

Huertas married on May 4, 2014 to his longtime girlfirend Nicole.


Best known for playing detective Javier Esposito in ABC's Castle.

On Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Huertas played Brad Alcero, for which he was nominated for an ALMA award.
